PESHAWAR - Charsadda Union of Journalists Monday staged a protest demonstration against police torture on two journalists and demanded of the Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti to take immediate action against the responsible persons.
The protest rally was staged in front of Peshawar Press Club, which was led by President Charsadda Union of Journalists. Holding banners and placards, the protesters also fastened black strips and chanted full-throated slogans against police. They said that police tortured two of their colleagues - Sher Ali and Siraj Ali.
They said that government has no concern regarding the security and protection of Journalist. He said that police brutally torturing the media persons while the government remain silent spectator.
The demanded of the chief minister to identify the responsible police persons and issued order of their immediate suspension. He said that they would quit the coverage of the government officers as well as ministers if they were not rewarded justice.
Meanwhile, various student Federation of Nowshera Degree College staged protest demonstration and demanded recovery of their colleague. They were of the view that unknown person has kidnapped their colleague Waqas student of second year some seven months ago and then released his torture videos.
They appealed to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and IG police to take immediate action against the responsible persons as the family members knows the name of those who had kidnapped Waqas.
