200 solar lamps distributed among tribesmen of SWA

Fata Secretariat on Tuesday distributed 200 solar lamps among tribesmen of South Waziristan Agency.
The Rural Livelihood and Community Infrastructure Project (RLCIP) under the Directorate of Projects Fata Secretariat distributed the lamps. 
Assistant Political Officer Hameedullah Khattak was the chief guest on the occasion.
The RLCIP has distributed 600 lamps among the deserving tribesmen of Bajaur, Mohmand and South Waziristan so far.
Some 60 people with 20 from each agency have already been trained to assemble, repair and maintain these lamps.
The solar lamps distributed among the tribesmen comprise a 3-watts solar panel and a lamp providing light for 36 hours when fully charged. It has got 6-volt pure dry lead acid battery, 3-extra chargers and 36-LEDs (light emitting diodes). Cellular phones can also be charged with the help of solar panel and battery.–Staff Reporter
