Burewala- At least twelve people were killed and many others were injured in a road accident last night when a passenger bus crashed into a truck near Burewala.
According to eyewitnesses, around 26 passengers were crammed up in the Vehari-bound 18-seater coaster when it met with the accident on Multan Road.
“The recklessly driven overloaded coach rammed into the trailer truck near Adda Zaheer Nagar after one of its front tires blew leaving the driver with no control over the steering wheel”, said an eyewitness. Rescuers had to cut through the mangled wreckage to pull the victims out. Most of the people were seriously injured and were sent to Burewala Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, where an emergency was declared. The driver and two children were among the dead.
