Sherry Rehman appointed senator by PPP

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has decided to appoint former minister Sherry Rehman as senator from Sindh, replacing her with Latif Ansari.
According to sources, Latif Ansari has resigned from Senate post on the directives of PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari. Chairman Senator Raza Rabbani has approved Ansari’s resignation.
Reports further said that decision to appoint Sherry Rehman, the senior PPP leader, as senator was taken in March this year but she could not resign from the post of Ambassador to US before completion of the two-year term.
