GILGIT - The law enforcement agencies have arrested a high profile terrorist who was allegedly involved in killing of a religious leader Agha Ziaudin in Gilgit, sources informed The Nation on Wednesday.
The terrorist, arrested from Rawalpindi, was identified as Maulvi Muhammad Nadeem and was later handed over to Diamer police, they added.
They said that a team of Investigation Bureau (IB) carried out an operation at Raja Bazaar, Rawalpindi, and arrested Nadeem, son of Abdul, Aziz, resident of Milmarig Astor.
He was wanted in the 2005 murder case of religious leader Agha Ziaudin, Imam Jamia Imamia Gilgit. The terrorist had a head money of two million rupees and his name was in the Red Book serial no-2.
A police team from Diamer headed by DSP Abdus Samad reached Rawalpindi and got custody of the terrorist.
The sources told that Maulvi Nadeem would be given to City Police Station Gilgit for further action.
