Gepco CEO makes better services claims Iqbal Manzil electricity remains suspended

The supply of electricity remained suspended to Iqbal Manzil, the birth place of Allama Iqbal), for the whole day on 78th annual death anniversary of the Poet of the East. Bazm-e-Iqbal President Nasir Shamim Khan Lodhi said that the Gepco had adopted a unique way to pay homage to Allama Iqbal by keeping the supply of electricity suspended for whole day to Iqbal Manzil. He said that the electricity supply remained suspended from early Thursday morning till afternoon.
Iqbal Manzil In-charge Syed Riaz Hussain Naqvi said that the UPS continued supply of electricity for a few hours. After this, all the CCTV cameras were also became off. The visitors suffered difficulties while visiting the rooms of the Iqbal Manzil in the darkness.
However, the supply of electricity was restored with the sincere efforts of some journalists and senior Gepco officials in Gujranwala. The Gepco officials claimed that the supply of electricity remained suspended due to the technical faults in electrical transformer near Iqbal Manzil.
On the other side, Gepco Chief Executive Junaid Akhtar said that the company is adopting modern technology to put its electricity supply system on modern lines, as the advanced technology would help bring betterment in the services.
Presiding over a meeting, he stressed a need for promotion of friendly aptitude towards the customers by the Gepco officials. He termed it vital step to promote services to the consumers.
WALK HELD: A large number of people from all walks of life participated in a walk taken out in Narowal city by the Environment Protection Department officials to mark the World Earth Day. District Officer Environment Usman Azhar led the walk. The participants were carrying banners and placards and they marched on various inter-city roads in Narowal city. They stressed a need for promotion of maximum sapling plantation to provide pollution-free atmosphere to the people.
