ISLAMABAD- During the second round of talks held yesterday, the PTI and the government negotiating teams could only agree on the formation of the judicial commission.
According to our sources, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar asked the PTI representatives to change the sequence of demands. He suggested keeping the probe into election rigging on top of the list and that the resignation of the PM should be the last demand. However, the PTI team rejected this demand.
The government committee said that the judicial commission would be given a period of three months to carry out transparent investigation and the PM’s resignation should not be demanded till the completion of the probe.
The PTI reiterated that Nawaz should step down, adding that the ‘Sharifs’ would influence the investigation. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf refused to give a three month period to Nawaz.
