Students protest terror attack on Peshawar school

PESHAWAR - Condemning the killing of innocent students and staff members in terrorists attack on the Army Public School, activists of Muttahida Talba Mahaz (MTM) staged a protest demonstration on Monday.
The protestors led by Science Superior college lecturer Ashfaqur Rahman and MTM leader Zohaib Khawas and Khalid Haroon were holding placards inscribed with slogans against terrorism and in favour of the martyred students. They also raised slogans against the inhuman killing of innocent students and asked the government to take effective steps to eradicate terrorism from the country.
Talking to media persons on the occasion, the protestors expressed sympathies with the bereaved families of martyred and injured students. They said anti-state elements always worked to break Pakistan but they cannot be succeeded in their attempts. “The recent terrorists attack on innocent students was also a chain of the conspiracies of anti-state elements,” they added.
They condemned the terrorists attack and said that a Muslim cannot even think about such massacre of innocent school children. They vowed to face the challenges with courage and vowed to defeat terrorists with the sacrifices rendered by hundreds of innocent Pakistanis, including children, women and law enforcing agencies.
Staff Reporter from Rawalpindi Adds: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalyka has said that a Traders-Police Liaison Committee will be formed immediately to maintain law and order in the city.
He said that the committee would work as CPLC and it would also boost the trust of traders in police as business community was the main victim of criminal activities. He said that problems faced by the business community would be resolved on priority basis and no stone would be left unturned in that regard. He said that all extortion cases had been resolved and if someone still received any kind of threat, one must share it with the department. Akhtar Umar Lalyka was exchanging these views with the President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Syed Asad Mashadi during his visit to RCCI along with City Police Officer (CPO) Humayun Bashir Tarar on Monday.
RPO Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalika said that business community was an asset of the country and the security of businessmen was the prime task of police. He said that police alone could do nothing unless businessmen and masses showed trust in police to bring the culprits to book.  He said that many criminals were able to get bails due to non-pursuance of the cases by the affectees.
Speaking on the occasion President RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi suggested the RPO to form a joint team for the security of business centres of the city. He said that police after clearing private guards should train them. He said that business community have full confidence in police.
