Iran rejects plan to impose fine on Pakistan

Tehran- Iran has never brought up the issue of imposing fine on Pakistan in the IP gas pipeline talks, said the deputy head of the Iranian Oil Ministry's directorate for international and trade affairs.

Underlining that Iran will not give up on any of its rights in the gas export talks with Pakistan, Amir-Hossein Zamani-Nia said. Tehran has not held any negotiations with Islamabad in this respect in the past few weeks, according to an Iranian news agency report.

Asked about the future of the pipeline in case Pakistan failed to lay it within the specified time-frame, Iranian officials have always noted that politically-speaking, the two sides are quite willing to implement the project.
