Operation seems round the corner: Imran

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday denounced Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his failure to hold peace talks with Taliban.
“The APC had mandated the federal government to negotiate with the militants. But where are those talks?” he questioned, while talking to media persons. He said the war on terrorism could have been won with the help of tribesmen. The military operation would be a victory for those who didn’t want to see talks,” he remarked.
The PTI chief also deplored militants’ attacks on health workers, saying polio was a serious health issue. He said, “We stand by the army. We should have been taken on board if the government wanted to launch a military operation. It appears the government has decided to launch an operation,” he noted.
Responding to a question, Khan said the armed forces had rendered huge sacrifices. “Who wants talks and who does not could have become clear only after the dialogue process,” he said.
