PESHAWAR - Welcoming the government decision regarding removal of Director General Fata Disaster Management Authority, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Khyber Agency demanded the government to constitute an inquiry commission to probe the alleged embezzlement in the funds of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and bring responsible officials to justice.
Addressing a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, JUI-F Amir Khyber Agency Mufti Ejaz Shinwari along with General Secretary Shamsuddin Afridi and Secretary Information Qari Jehad Shah said that removal of DG FDMA is not enough to end corruption in the authority but a independent inquiry must be held to unearth the massive corruption in IDPs' funds, particularly hailing from Khyber Agency.
Shinwari said that competent tribal people should be appointed in the FDMA in order to provide efficient services to the displaced families.
The JUI-F tribal leaders also urged the elected representatives from Fata to give equal share in the Annual Development programme (ADP) and other mega development schemes to all tribes as per ratio of their population. He demanded immediate halt to the ongoing military operation in Khyber Agency and called for bringing peace and everlasting stability through holding talks in the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas.
Condemning the brutality of Israeli forces on Palestinians, Shinwari demanded the UN to immediately hold meeting on this important issue to ensure stability and safety of people of Palestine. He also called for holding meeting of Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) immediately to end the growing bloodshed in Gaza strip.
