Owing to corruption, use of substandard material and poor planning, three projects of Chitral have failed to serve the purpose.
Former UC nazim Abdul Wali Khan has sought attention of the KPK government and PTI chief Imran Khan in this regard. He said that the Awami National Party government had approved Golain Water supply scheme for 50 percent population of Chitral Town and a sum of Rs500 million was spent on the scheme but due to corruption and use of substandard material, the project failed badly soon after its inauguration by MPA Saleem Khan.
He said with regard to the issue, the provincial government, National Accountability Bureau and the Anti corruption department have taken no action which is a question mark.
Likewise, he said, a bridge was under-construction in Morlain Goul Chitral for the one year but still incomplete while the material being used in it was substandard. Abdul Wali Khan Bypass road of Chitral Town is also an example of the use of substandard material and corruption.
He further added that the corruption was being made under the collusion of C&W with the contractor while the NAB and the Anti-Corruption Department were silent spectators. Although the department has lodged an FIR against the offices and the contractors, no action has been taken against them. He further asked the PTI government to take action against the corrupt mafia of Chitral and launch investigate into the “embezzlement”. He further added that the PTI should fulfill its promise of justice.
