KHYBER AGENCY - AHMAD NABI - A Nato driver was shot dead and his two colleagues sustained bullet injuries when unknown militants opened firing on Nato supply tankers on Friday here in Wazirdand area of tehsil Jamrud, sub-division of Khyber, official sources confirmed.
The sources said that a NATO tanker bearing registration no. LSA-4192 was en route to Afghanistan through Pak-Afghan highway, Khyber Pass when it was intercepted by unknown gunmen and opened indiscriminate firing on it.
As a result, the vehicle driver identified as Said Ghaffar son of Bacha Gul, resident of Neki Khel was killed on the spot while his other accomplices, Jabbar of Zekha Khel and Badshah Khan of Koki-Khel were injured, sources said.
Soon after the incident the administration and forces officials rushed to the scène, cordoned off the whole area and shifted the injured and body to Jamrud hospital for medico-legal formalities, sources said.
Search action has been launched in the area while 15 suspects have been arrested and sent to Jamrud lock-up for investigations, sources said.
