CM vows to bring lynching accused to book

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday visited the house of Youhannabad lynching victim Hafiz Muhammad Naeem in Lalyani, Mustafabad and condoled his death with the bereaved parents. The chief minister also presented a compensation cheque for Rs0.5 million to the family and assured them that the accused will be stand trial at all costs.
On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif divulged that 30 suspects had been identified and arrested in connection with the Youhannabad incident wherein an unruly mob lynched two innocent persons and later burnt them alive in the most brutal way.
The chief minister declared that the case would be tried in the Anti-Terrorism Court and the Punjab government would monitor the entire process.
Shahbaz Sharif pointed out that it was not humanly possible for anybody to bring the lynching victims back, however, all-out efforts would be made to provide justice to the bereaved family.
