Slain DSP laid to rest

Sialkot-based slain Deputy Superintendent of Police Muhammad Nawaz was laid to rest in his native graveyard here with full official honour.
His funeral was held at Police Lines Ground Sialkot and attended by a large number of people including senior police officials and newly elected local parliamentarians. His dead body was brought to Sialkot from Chenab Nagar-Chiniot for burial. DSP Muhammad Nawaz, 48, alias Nawaz PPM was martyred by dacoits during a bank robbery at Lalian city of Chenab Nagar Tehsil in Chiniot district on Tuesday. He was was Pakistan Police Medal award winner due to his bravery in police profession. He was survived by a widow, three daughters and a son, who is studying in the UK. He had served as DSP at Sialkot City, Sambrial, Pasrur, Daska and DSP (Headquarters) in Sialkot and was transferred and posted at Chenab Nagar before the May 11, 2013 general elections.
