Rawalpindi - Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan laid the foundation stone of the Punjab Emergency Service (PES), Rescue 1122, at Taxila to provide the most efficient response to different emergencies occurring in the vicinity of Taxila.
In this regard a ceremony was held at Taxila here on Saturday. District Emergency Officer (DEO) Rescue 1122 Dr Abdur Rehman welcomed the chief guest and representatives from tehsil administration.
Dr Abdur Rahman, District Emergency Officer Rawalpindi, presented performance of Rescue 1122 and highlighted initiatives taken by life-saving emergency service. He further briefed that Rescue 1122 had rescued 2.9 million victims of emergencies across Punjab since its inception.
He further appreciated the support of Punjab government for establishing a comprehensive system of emergency response that includes emergency ambulance, search and rescue, fires, disaster response and community safety services at Tehsil Level.
Speaking on the occasion, Nisar Ali Khan appreciated rescue service and directed building department to complete construction work as soon as possible, So that emergency service could be started at Taxila.
Tight security arrangements were made on the occasion by police to avoid any untoward incident.
