KHYBER AGENCY - In order to motivate teachers to impart education in best manner and to encourage students to learn in their best capacity and produce best results, the political administration, Khyber Agency has announced a package for best teachers and students of the state-run schools.
A public message, printed on big pin flex and posted on different public places, said that those students who secure 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in the annual Senior School Certificate (SSC or (matric) examination in Peshawar Board will be awarded.
The principal of 1st position holder will be sent to Saudi Arabia for performing Haj and the teaching staff will be granted thirty thousand rupees. Similarly, the student who secures 2nd position on board level, his principal and staff members will be facilitated with fifty and twenty thousand rupees respectively, while the 3rd position holder student's principal and teachers will receive thirty and fifteen thousand rupees.
Impressive package has been announced for the students according to which, the position holders in top twenty positions on board level will be enrolled in any top college of the country and for two years political administration of Khyber Agency will bear their expenses.
In the same way, a week long sports competitions, including football, hockey, basketball, volley ball, tag of war, athletics and kabadi among the students will be organised at the Jamrud Sports Complex in addition to organising literary contests of qirat, naat, national songs, English and Urdu speeches competitions and the best students will be given away cash prizes.
When Agency Education Officer (AEO) Khyber Agency Mr.Atiq was contacted on the matter, he said that enough changes would be made to improve the standard of learning in the Khyber Agency. He said that the reward system would not only help increase efficiency of teachers but would also start a healthy competition among them, which will definitely yield positive results.
Expressing his views, President Teacher Association Landi kotal chapter Khalid Khan Afridi welcome the step and said it would enhance quality of education in the area.
The talented students in the state-run schools received it as a good news and said that through the package offered by the administration they will be able to compete with the students of private education institutions.
