Mortar fire from Afghanistan injures two troops

MOHMAND AGENCY - At-least nine mortar shells were fired from Afghanistan on a security check post in the border area of Mohmand Agency at 4:30pm yesterday, an official said.
According to the security sources, the mortar shells landed in Ziarat security border post in tehsil Baizai area one of which hit the post. As a result, Major Farrukh and Havaldar Imran Khan sustained injuries and were shifted to Peshawar through a helicopter. Pak Army retaliated with heavy weapons and targeted the location from where the mortar shells had been fired.
An official of the political administration confirmed the incident and said three mortar shells were fired from Afghan side on Ziarat security check post, injuring two security personnel.
