India must release Kashmiri leaders: Fazl

Chairman parliamentary committee on Kashmir affairs, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has said the claimant of being the world’s largest democracy, India must release the arrested Kashmiri leaders.
In a statement, Fazl-ur-Rehman said India has held Kashmiri leaders into custody to suppress the Kashmiri freedom movement.
Important Kashmiri leaders are arrested on special festivals in order to keep them away from the people and to weaken the movement for independence, he added, saying that this movement will not end but will gain further momentum.
The Indian army has got authority under black laws and they arrest, murder or release any one on its own, while the Indian courts are helpless, he noted.
He also urged the Indian leaders to stop its policy of atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairman Kashmir Committee, Fazl-ur-Rehman said India has strengthened its hold on Jammu and Kashmir using power and deploying 0.8 million army personnel there.
He said India has turned Jammu and Kashmir into cantonment area, adding that the number of forces deployed there is more than that in any place in the world including Afghanistan and Iraq.
Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said despite such wrongdoings, the Indian leaders claim that the Kashmiris agree to live with India.
He said by celebrating August 15 as black day, the Kashmiris renew the vow to get freedom from India.
