Balochistan govt withdraws request for transfer of Bugti murder case

Balochistan government has withdrawn its application from Balochistan High Court (BHC) seeking transfer of Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case to Islamabad.
Two miscellaneous applications were filed by Balochistan government and former president Pervez Musharraf in BHC, praying the court to transfer the case to Islamabad in the wake of security concerns.
Chief Justice BHC Qazi Essa took up the applications for hearing.
Prosecutor General Balochistan withdraw the application filed by the government of Balochistan seeking transfer of case to Islamabad and held out assurance for providing every possible security by the government of Balochistan to Musharraf.
He took the plea this application was filed during the tenure of care taker government and it has nothing to do with the incumbent government of Balochistan. Therefore the government not only opposes this application but also withdraws it.
Barrister Ilyas Siddiqui, counsel for Pervez Musharraf said his client was facing life threats and several life attempts have been made on him and at present life threats are being hurled by Jehadi outfits.
Sohail Ahmad Rajput, counsel for Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti informed the judiciary that the application filed by Pervez Musharraf is in conflict with law and constitution and constitutional formalities have not been met therein.
As far as attacks on Pervez Musharraf are concerned he was attacked upon in Rawalpindi and Islamabad duding his term. High court has no powers to transfer the case to other province.
After hearing the arguments of the counsels chief justice BHC dismissed the application.
