25 key Gepco officials imparted training

GUJRANWALA
A training session was held for Gujranwala Electric Power Company’s 25 officers including chief engineers, executive engineers and subdivisional officers.
Addressing a certificate distribution ceremony after the two-day training workshop, Gepco Chief Executive Officer Munir Ahmed said that USAID Power Distribution Programme representative Ch Ghafoor Ahmed said that the programme was strengthening Pakistan’s energy sector and improving the supply and distribution of power.
The United States Agency for International Development installed about 867 automated meter-reading devices on almost all the 11KV feeders of Gepco, he added. “It is training the staff of government-run power distribution companies in power load management, which will eventually help reduce loadshedding,” he said.
Gepco CEO Munir Ahmad Mian distributed certificates to the training participants. The programme has successfully implemented its “Load Data Improvement Programme” in Discos, aimed at minimising loadshedding, he said.
