Polio campaign postponed

QUETTA - A polio campaign which was scheduled to start from Monday (today) has been postponed due to security reasons, on Sunday. According to sources, WHO had postponed three-day anti-polio campaign in three districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Pishin and Qila Abdullah. 
“The campaign has been postponed due to security reasons,” sources said, adding, that a special meeting had been called on Monday (today) to discuss and decide the future strategy in connection with the polio drive. It may be mentioned here that Balochistan is the high risk area of polio where majority of polio cases have been reported in the past. According to the UNICEF sources, around 15 polio cases were reported in these three districts which are highest numbers in 2012 in Pakistan.
