President to visit Kuwait tomorrow

ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari will pay a two-day official visit to Kuwait starting from tomorrow to attend golden jubilee celebrations organised to mark the 50th Independence Day of Kuwait. Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah had sent special invitation to President Zardari to attend the celebrations. During the visit, the President will also hold talks with Kuwaiti leadership to further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two friendly countries. President Zardaris visit closely follows the one by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on February 14-15, who had focused on enhancing the Pak-Kuwait relationship on bilateral and economic fronts. According to official sources, President Zardaris visit will not only increase goodwill but also enhance the bilateral relations in investment, recruitment of labour and joint ventures. The President is also expected to meet other world leaders who will be in Kuwait on this special occasion. Zardari will hold talks with the Amir of Kuwait, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The celebrations in Kuwait also marked the 20th anniversary of the countrys liberation from Iraqi occupation and the fifth anniversary of Kuwaits Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabahs inauguration. Pakistan and Kuwait enjoy very special trade relations as Pakistan heavily depends of oil imports from the Arab Gulf state.
