3 policemen die, 6 injure in police station attack in Peshawar

At least three policemen were killed and six others wounded when three suicide bombers targeted a police station here in Peshawar on Friday.
According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Imtiaz Altaf, three suicide bombers on Friday morning entered Kotwali Police Station in Peshawar and blew themselves.
As a result of blast three cops were killed on the spot while six others sustained injuries.
The bodies and the injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. Emergency was declared and doctors as well as paramedical staff rushed to hospital to deal with the situation.
Officials said that two officers were among the dead.
Sheikh Abdullah Azaam group brigade has claimed responsibility of the attack and said it was to avenge the killing of Badr Munir in drone attack. The group warned that there would be more such attacks.
Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain talking to media said the suicide bombers entered the building of "C" Division police station and fired at the personnel on duty. The police men returned the fire and the three suicide bombers were killed and clarified that they did not explode themselves.
Mian Iftikhar said had the policemen did not take timely action all the 342 personnel present in the building would have been killed.
