Thousands rally against govt inaction


CHINIOT - Thousands of workers of furniture manufacturing units weaving factories, and powerlooms took to street in protest against the 20 hours long power outages in the city.
The workers and labourer took out rallies from different part of the city which culminated in front of Wapda office. They parked tractor-trolleys on the roads and kept the traffic blocked for more then 3 hours at Tehsil Chowk. They were carrying banners and placards and chanting anti-government slogans.
While addressing the participants, Pakistan Mazdoor Ittehad General Secretary Dr Ali Amin, Furniture Manufactured Association President Malik Khalil Ahmad, Traders Union President Haji Muhammad Jameel Fakhri Labour Union Presidnet Muhammad Ramzan Drawar and JI Naib Ameer Noorul Hassan Shah said that the owners of furniture manufacturing units were terminating thousands of daily-waged workers and laborers from their factories due to power crisis. They said that the terminated workers were unable to run their house due to se3vere financial constrains.
They said that more then 50 thousands workers were working with furniture cartage industry and they have been living miserable life since unidentified electricity supply suspension.

Later, the protesting workers dispersed peacefully after lodging their strong anti-power outages crisis protest.
