Dilapidated roads cursing TMA’s apathy

VEHARI - The Club Road, the busiest street of the city, is in dilapidated condition due to the negligence of TMA.
Reportedly, the road from railway crossing near Islamia High School to Jamia Masjid Baghwali is on the mercy of shopkeepers who have encroached on it from both sides halting the way for pedestrians. The Motorcycle Market has never been paid attention which is becoming more polluted day by day because of the disposal of wastage on road by the shopkeepers owing to non-availability of proper waste disposal facilities.
Islamia High Schools’ students are at the risk of lung diseases due to the soaring pollution in the environment. Same situation prevails at Timber Market and adjoining areas. Dust and smoke of auto rickshaws is adding fuel to the fire.
The residents of the area strongly protested against the criminal negligence of the civic authorities. Malik Muhammad Shaban, Muhammad Asif Iqbal and the teachers of Isamia School demanded the DCO and TMO to look into the matter and save the people’s lives.
They also demanded the Commissioner Multan and Chief Minister to visit Vehari and provide funds for the maintenance of the city.
