Kabul summons Pak envoy

KABUL  -
Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday summoned Pakistani ambassador in Kabul and asked him to ensure that the perpetrators of last week's attack on an Afghan diplomat in Islamabad were detained and brought to justice.
Naqeebullah Ibrahimkhel, the third secretary at Afghanistan Embassy in Islamabad, was shot and wounded in the heart of the city on Wednesday. He was shot in the leg while walking from a cluster of shops to his house.  Addressing a news conference in Kabul, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry said they had handed a demarche to Pakistan's acting ambassador Jan Bahadur.
Jan Musazai said Bahadur had been asked to tell Pakistani authorities to arrest the attackers at the earliest possible.
"We want the Pakistan government to boost security for Afghan diplomats there."
The diplomat, currently recovering in hospital, is in stable condition, according to Musazai, who called for Islamabad to take effective steps to arrest the assailants.
