History of hijacking repeated: Shujaat

RAWALPINDI  - PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Monday vehemently denounced the act of government to divert the airplane of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) Chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri to Lahore.
He said that Nawaz Sharif repeated the history of hijacking airplane and he should be punished for this heinous crime. “Earlier, Nawaz hijacked the airplane of the then Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. (Retd) Pervez Musharaf in 1999 and now he hijacked the airplane of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri,” he added.
Shujat expressed these views while talking to the media at the Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIIAP) where he along with Kamil Ali Agha arrived to receive PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri.
He said the government should have allowed Qadri landing in Islamabad instead of diverting his airplane to Lahore. “What will happen if the government allows Qadri to land in Islamabad,” Chaudhry Shujat mentioned.
Earlier, PML-Q President reached BBIIAP along with Kamil Ali Agha where the PAT workers accorded him tumultuous welcome. The jubilant workers chanted slogans in favour of Qadri and Chaudhry Shujat Hussain.
Chaudhry Shujat was the lone politician of opposition parties who was not stopped by police or other law enforcement agencies from reaching the airport. While on the other hand, Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed faced great humiliation at the hands of security officials who did not allow him to reach airport.
