PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has assured all the operation affectees of tribal belt including Waziristan Agency that KP government will not leave them in lurch and do all it can to help them at this critical juncture of country’s history especially when they are faced with numerous difficulties due to military operation and migration. Khattak said they should not feel themselves alone. He said the entire nation was with them and feeling their pain as such. He said PTI-led coalition govt had initiated relief measures for IDPs of NWA on emergency basis. Khattak said, “We know that making arrangements for food and shelter and taking care of their health is impossible in a short span of time, but we will spare no efforts to discharge our national obligation in a befitting manner by working round the clock”.He was talking to a 25-member representative delegation of North Waziristan Qaumi Jirga led by Engr Rehmatullah Dawar that called on him at his KP Assembly chamber and apprised him of the plight of IDPs entering Bannu and other settled areas via Saidgai Checkpost from remote areas of North Waziristan. Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaisar, Senior Minister for Finance Sirajul Haq, Senior Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarkai, LG&RD Minister Inayatullah, Education Minister Muhammad Atif Khan, E&T Minister Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel and assembly members including Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Muzaffar Said advocate, Dr Haider Ali were prresent.Pervez Khattak assured resolution of the problems and demands presented by the delegation on priority basis including registration of the IDPs, shelter, food, police attitude, education and health of their children, compensation for those died during migration and free movement of their non-custom-paid vehicles. He made clear that Commissioner Bannu has been directed to keep close liaison with IDPs and their representatives whereas more powers and resources are also being delegated to the commissioner for this purpose. He said that every issue of the IDPs will be considered as top most priority of the provincial govt and will be solved on emergent basis. He said that we knew that affectees of Wazirstan did not want to stay in relief camp adjacent to Saidgai check post due to their tribal traditions and hence they preferred to stay on road sides. However he said that provincial govt will endeavor to provide them shelter and relief both in cash and commodity shapes as soon as possible. He said that the schools as well as all other available buildings are also being allocated for them to accommodate them all.The chief minister assured that both federal and provincial governments would jointly take solid measures to share their miseries while the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also eager to help them and would never let them feel loneliness in this hour of need. He further assured that though there were some problems in the beginning but very soon all the IDPs would be provided basic facilities including shelter, food, water, treatment and wards education in disciplined manner. Even fodder for their cattle will also be arranged, he added. The chief minister said that arrangements for providing Ramazan Package to IDPs were also being made.Pervez Khattak said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had also undergone similar hardships in the past.
