LAHORE- Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, a senior leader of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was also onboard the plane carrying chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri today.
The flight en route to Islamabad from Dubai was diverted to Lahore due to security concerns for Dr Qadri who had refused to come off the plane, demanding it fly back to Islamabad or the army send a representative to give him protection.
Raja Zafar-ul-Haq's presence in the plane came as a surprise to many media
persons who dub this as government's attempt to convince the religious party
chief to refrain from his political adventure.
Reports said Zafar-ul-Haq boarded the plane from Dubai. Although other passengers were not being allowed to leave, the PML-N leader came out of the Emirate's plane and answered reporters' questions briefly. "We can't advise Mr. Qadri, his own people should come to advise him," the PML-N leader said.
