SRINAGAR- Moderate Hurriyat Conference headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today asked India and Pakistan to take people of Kashmir into confidence and start a dialogue for an honorable resolution of Kashmir issue.

"India and Pakistan should take Kashmiris into confidence and start a result-oriented dialogue for an unbiased solution to Kashmir issue," Hurriyat said in a statement after a joint meeting of its Executive and General councils, chaired by Mirwaiz.

Terming the animosity between India and Pakistan a lurking threat to peace and prosperity of the region, the Hurriyat said, "Any confrontation between the two atomic powers can be devastating for the region."
