Protest as woman killed by ‘in-laws’

SIALKOT

The family of a woman, who was allegedly killed by her in-laws, staged a protest demonstration by keeping the body in Muradpur chowk.
They kept the traffic blocked for an hour demanding early arrest of the accused.
Fareeha Bibi, 26, was married to Saleem about six months ago. She was now pregnant. Her parents told the police that after her marriage, her in laws were used to beat her for not bringing dowry.
Her parents added that on the day of incident, the accused tortured her with wooden sticks and iron rods, which took her life.
They added that according to the medical report, there were many signs of torture and teeth biting on her body.
They said revealed that her in laws killed her as a punishment for not bringing dowry with her after her marriage. The in laws fled away after the murder. They demanded early registration of a murder case against her in laws and arrest.
