LONDON: Former President Asif Ali Zardari met US Senator John McCain on Friday.

Zardari called for further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He said Pakistan was determined to eliminate terrorism and Pakistani soldiers were sacrificing their lives.

Zardari said that Pakistan was affected by the menace of terrorism and the whole nation was committed in rooting out terrorism completely.

Senator McCain and Zardari agreed that democracy in Pakistan should be allowed to grow and thrive.

Zardari said McCain has assured his full support for provision of F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan.
