26 militants, 3 soldiers killed in Orakzai, Khyber

Dozens of armed insurgents rocked security forces check post in Khadizai area of Upper Orakzai Agency on Saturday, killing three soldiers and also inflicted injuries on some personnel while 18 militants were also killed in retaliatory fire by the security forces.
Official sources said that the attack took place at a paramilitary check post in Khadizai area on the outskirts of Kalaya, the main town in the Orakzai Agency.
"Three soldiers were martyred when Taliban armed with guns and rockets launched an attack overnight," official sources said, adding that several dozen insurgents were involved in the raid.
According to report, security forces retaliated the attack and killed at least 18 militants and inflicted injuries on dozens, but there was no independent confirmation of the death toll.
The injured security personnel were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Kohat for the treatment. The military started a search operation in the area.
Khadizai is located in Upper Orakzai which is usually the scene of frequent clashes between security forces and militants while government troops are in control of its lower reaches.
Similarly, eight militants including an important commander died whilst making a bomb in the area of Bara Akakhel, Khyber Agency.
According to the security sources, militants were engaged in making the bomb when the IED exploded. The explosion killed eight people including important commanders identified as Nazir Ahmed, Abdul Malik, Haji Toor.
The tribal region bordering Afghanistan is ripe with the terror related incidents where security forces were active since long to flush out the militants hiding in the region had offered numerous sacrifices but the matter is still lingering and require more struggle.
