HYDERABAD - The Transport Officer University of Sindh has lodged an FIR with Jamshoro Police Station against two unidentified motorcyclists on charge of firing on three point busses of the university.
The university spokesman informed here on Thursday that incident of firing took place on Wednesday morning when three point buses of the university were on way to carry students and employees to the campus.
Soon after the incident, the drivers of the university observed a sit-in in front of the university transport workshop. The Registrar of the University rushed there and assured that security will be provided to them.
The spokesman informed that academic activities in the university continued on Thursday in all teaching institutes and departments. The university’s own buses for teachers, employees and students as well as private point buses for the students continued routine services from already fixed routs.
The university management has adopted strict security measures at the campus and carrying out checking at the main entrances to avoid any untoward incident. Meanwhile, the management of University of Sindh Thursday appointed Prof Dr Naeem Tarque Narejo of the Department of Freshwater Biology and Fisheries as Dean Students Affairs of the university.Meanwhile, Commissioner Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo has directed the Buildings Department to prepare a PC-1 for the reconstruction of a mosque in the premises of Qadam Gah Hazrat Ali (RA) in Hyderabad. Narejo ordered this at a meeting with the delegation of Qadam Gah led by committee chairman Syed Bashir Hussain Shah. He noted that the devotees come from all parts of the country to visit the place where the footprints of Hazrat Ali (RA) were placed.
