CHARSADDA - A eunuch was killed while another sustained injuries when armed men opened fire at them here at Prang locality on late Saturday night, police said.
According to details, two eunuchs identified as Junaid alias Strawberry and Ali alias Muskan were coming back from a musical programme late Saturday night when allegedly two persons namely Hamid and Shakeel opened indiscriminate firing at them. Subsequently, Juniad died on the spot while Ali received serious injuries and was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.
Another eunuch Imran while talking to media persons said that he was thinking to quit this profession because it had become a risky job.
Police said that a search operation was under way to nab the accused.
SACKED WORKERS’ PROTEST GOES ON: Labour Union Lakki Cement factory continued its protest camp for the 9th consecutive day in Peshawar on Sunday against the termination of their services and alleged grabbing of their arrears by the factory administration.
Addressing on the occasion, President of the Union Haji Saifullah claimed that the factory administration has structured a fake union involving Mohammad Farooq and Imranullah who are not the representatives of the affected labourers of the factory.
They said that the government has so far been failed to take steps against the factory owners where the factory administration has dishonoured all commitments.
They added that those labourers who raised their voice for the rights of their colleagues were terminated by the owners of the industry and uptill now they have terminated 144 workers from this factory.
The appealed to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chief Justice Peshawar High Court to take action against the factory administration to restore the sacked employees.
