SAHIWAL - Janaka Hanatha of six Lanka with the margin of only 10 second clinched the seventh stage of the 14th Tour de Pakistan International Cycle Race here Sunday. He completed this stage in four hours seven minutes and 30 seconds and became winner of the day. The cyclists paddled off from Multan for Sahiwal in the seventh stage. In this race Dil Sher of Wapda remained second and covered this distance in four hours seven minutes and 40 second while Niamat Ali of Sui Southern with deficit of 10 seconds emerged as third in four hours seven minutes and 50 seconds. Hashimullah of Afghanistan got fourth position and Haroon Rasheed and Maulana Bashir, both of Wapda remained 5th and 6th respectively. The cyclist met an accident on a canal bridge between Chichawatni and Harrapa, where due to spread of Diesel on road, about 15 cyclists slipped among them two cyclist one Fazal Khuda of Afghanistan and Jaffar of Punjab sustained severe injuries, and failed to continue their race. Resulting that both have been ousted from completion. The competition were welcomed by President Pakistan Cycle Federation Ch Naurez Shakoor District president Ch Naeem Nisar alogn with other office bears and large number of citizen near Wapda house GT Road Sahiwal. Now the cyclists will became Sahiwal tomorrow for Lahore at 9 am for the 8th leg of race.
