Power transformer stolen in Kot Addu

KOT ADDU - At a time when the country is faced with severe power shortfall and energy crisis, incidents of stealing of transformers and power cables have risen alarmingly. A similar theft took place near Pathan Chowk in Kot Addu, where unidentified thieves on Tuesday stole a power transformer mounted on a pole. Police have registered a case and are investigating. Meanwhile, unidentified thieves drove away the tractor trolley of one Mukhtar Ahmad from Naqadabads Ward 14. Ahmad had parked the vehicle outside his house on Monday evening. When he came out in the next morning, the tractor trolley was missing. Moreover, an accountant, who made off with Rs 5.07 million from a local contracting company ahead of Eidul Azha, was booked. Gulzar Ahmad Rajput, a resident of Muzaffargarh, was working as an accountant for Waheed Khans building company. The accountant had been given Rs5.07m for salaries of employees before Eidul Azha. But he ran away. Police have registered a case against the accused. Separately, a youth was kidnapped over a land dispute between Iqbal Jat and Hakim Khan Pathan. Iqbal Jat and his cousin Imran Jat were sleeping at their dera in Chak-547 TDA when Hakim Khan along with his 2 companions, armed with guns, allegedly abducted Imran. Police have registered a case on the complaint of Iqbal Jat and are investigating.
