Do Tok Batein launched

LAHORE - The launching ceremony of book “Do Tok Batein” written by Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema held at Alhamra on Sunday.
The ceremony was presided over by former president Rafiq Tarar. Former federal minister SM Zafar, GCU VC Dr Khaleequr Rehman,, VC Lahore College University Bushra Mateen, renowned columnists Attaul Haq Qasmi, Former Chairman Cricket Board Khalid Mehmood, former IG Punjab Shaukat Javed, Senior Columnist Ajmal Niazi, Brig (r) Muhammad Akram, Senior Journalist Sohail Wariach, members of civil society and others attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was conducted by poetess Sofia Biadar and book was published by Khalid Sharif, MD Mavra Publishers.
Addressing the ceremony, Rafiq Tarar said that Zulfiqar Cheema is man of high character. Wherever Cheema had been posted, the locals witnessed his success. His family background is known for his love for humanity, he added.
SM Zarfar said that Cheema had always played his role in ascertaining rule of law and justice. He prayed that our country may have more officers like Cheema. In every word of the book we see a glimpse of patriotism and his writings should be included in the syllabus of civil service, he opined.
Former VC and Principal Punjab University Law College Prof Dr Sheikh Imtiaz Ali said that Cheema never compromised on rule of law and he was not appointed as IG Punjab or Sindh only because he is an honest and upright person. He further said that “DO Tok Baten” has great attraction about itself and he has read the book twice.
Dr Khaleequr Rehman lauded the services of Cheema. Every teacher and student of the country should read this book, he further said. VC Lahore University Buhsra Mateen said that the writings of Zulfiqar Cheema are that of a man with aching heart and sensitive feelings.
Attaul Haq Qasmi said that wherever IG Zulfiqar Cheema went, he brought change with him and reformed those institutions. He suggested that Cheema may be appointed as Chief Election Commissioner by reforms in the constitution.
Sohail Wariach paid tribute to Cheema by saying his writings leave deep impression upon the minds of the reader and are a ray of hope with lot of freshness and sophistication.  
Dr Ajmal Niazi said that Cheema always saved the cruel from his cruelty and he is minaret of light.At the end, Zulfiqar Cheema thanked chief guest and the participant of the event.
