Karachi- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed Works & Services Department to take up the issue of unrepaired portion of National Highway bypass near Therhi, Khairpur, with National Highway Authority (NHA) to get it repaired because road accidents have become order of the day there.
He said that here a portion of road is in dilapidated condition and heavy traffic has developed craters in it and many vehicles turn turtle here. The chief minister in his directives to W&S Dept further said that this month so far four road accidents have taken place there claiming 60 lives and injured scores of people. He said that National Highway Authority was in need of repair of some other damaged portions of the road also.
He also took notice of the protest of Sukkur Small Traders Association and asked the Local Government Department why the sewerage system has failed in Sukkur. He also directed the Commissioner Sukkur to report him about the performance of local bodies.
