Pervez Khattak wants end to missile strikes

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, on Thursday called for an end to missile strikes in Pakistan and stressed the need for dialogues with militants to restore peace.
“The missile strikes must end now. The war is not the solution to our problems, it has claimed thousands of lives, people just want peace which can be restored through dialogues,” the KPK Chief Minister was talking to newsmen on his arrival in Quetta on Thursday on special invitation of Balochistan Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik to attend the opening meeting of the provincial cabinet.
He said all political forces are on the same page over the issue of talks with militants. “We request the federal government to pursue the peace process and make it result-oriented.”
“PTI’s policy on terrorism and militancy is obvious for the outset, it wants restoration of peace,” the CM said, and vowed to introduce a governance system in his province against ‘plunderers’ and ‘dacoits’.
Khattak said that the issue of terrorism can only be resolved through dialogue.
The KPK Chief Minister said the option of war against militancy and terrorism has delivered nothing in the past.
