KARACHI- In a humanitarian gesture, Bahria Town Foundation chairman on Fridaypresented a cheque of Rs50 million to renowned socialworker Abdul SattarEdhi.
Mr. Edhi’s head office in Lyari was recently robbed by armed miscreants in broad daylight, and the muggers made off with millions of rupees in cash and gold ornaments. Police have so far failed to recover the looted amount andarticles.
Bahria Town founder and business tycoon MalikRiaz Hussain had vowed to help Mr. Edhi after he suffered a major financial loss in mugging.
Bahria Town chairman Zain Malik, son of Malik Riaz, Friday met Mr. Edhi in Karachi and presented athe chequeand assured Edhi of everypossible cooperation by his foundation for social work.
Zain said Bahria Town was standing with Mr. Edhi in this testing time. He appealed to all philanthropists to come forward and help Mr. Edhi
