ISLAMABAD- The Supreme Court of Pakistan today admitted identical petitions seeking to annul the last year general elections.
The three-member bench of the apex court chaired by Chief Justice Nasirul
Mulk would hear the petitions filed by former federal minister Zahid Sarfaraz and Justice (R) Mehmood Akhtar Siddiqui.
The petitioners contended that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has failed to hold free and fair elections in accordance with the law. The court has fixed October 29 for hearing of the petitions.
