Mehsuds announce return to homes, fight Taliban

PESHAWAR (APP) Mehsud tribes of South Waziristan Agency have announced their imminent return to native areas, saying they will not allow anyone to cooperate with Taliban rather they will force Taliban to leave their areas. In a grand Jirga of tribal elders and political administration held at Political Compound, Tank, the elders of Mehsud tribes showed their commitment to abide by 40 FCR Law and jointly work with the security forces to purge the area of the miscreants. In the jirga, tribal elders Senator Maulana Muhammad Salih Shah, Malik Masaood Ahmad, Malik Rapa Khan, Maulana Esamud Din, Malik Aziz ullah, Malik Banoot Khan and over 200 elite of the area participated. Addressing the Jirga, tribal elders said their forefathers supported the 40 FCR Law and following their footprints they will also abide by this law in the larger interest of the tribal area. They said they were ready to return to their homes and determined to work along with the security forces to eliminate the menace of militancy. They said at the moment governments help and attention was their requirement so as they could regain their strength. They said that Mehsuds had rendered countless sacrifices for the sake of the motherland, adding in future they would stand besides the security forces to safeguard the country from any internal or external threat. Political Agent of SWA Syed Shahab Ali in his address said Mehsuds are the intelligent people of FATA and have always talked for the country besides playing their role in settling the disputes. He said, We honour the decision taken by Mehsuds and it is an important development. He said Mehsuds would not find themselves alone on their return to home, as Political Administration will be there to help them.
