8 die in Shangla car accident

SHANGLA - At least eight people including two real brothers died and another person sustained injuries when a car plunged into Indus River on Friday in district Shangla.
According to details, a car (PSD-627) left for Ranolia from a nearby vehicle-stand in Besham area while carrying passengers. When it reached Monji area, it suddenly fell deep into Indus River.
Resultantly, eight passengers, two among them were brothers, died on the spot, while another passenger got injured.  On getting information, locals rushed to the site and recovered the dead bodies after hectic efforts. Those who died were identified as Rokhan, Janat Bibi, Mohamamd Ayub, Rehmat Wali, Shah Faisal, Taj Mohamamd, driver, Mohammad Khan, Ferogh Khan, while Saud Khan sustained multiple injuries in the incident.
 Locals said that the car carrying passengers left from the stand at around 10am and it has covered hardly two kilometres, when it came across to the ill-fated incident. Police said that the car was heading towards Kohistan area from Besham fell 300 feet below in the Indus River.
The dead bodies were dispatched to concerned areas; police registered an FIR at Lal Mohamamd Shaheed police station and started further investigation into the incident. It has been reported the incident occulted when the driver lost control over the car.
