Democracy to be protected at any cost, says Achakzai

QUETTA - Leader of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mehmood Khan Achakzai said on Sunday that democracy will be protected at any cost.
Addressing a Press conference here, Achakzai said that all the political forces want supremacy of Constitution and continuity of democracy.
"Anti-democratic elements are exposed now and the people have rejected them," he told media. Achakzai also said that rallies would be taken out to express solidarity with the Prime Minister.
He said that the protesting parties, PTI and PAT, have occupied Red Zone which is like nervous system of the country. "Well wishers of Pakistan want political stability and are united to protect democracy," he added.
Achakzai said change is only possible through vote, which will ensure Pakistan's existence.
He urged all the political parties to form a united front for democracy and raise their voice against those protesting in favour of extra-constitutional demands. He said that Nawaz Sharif is a democrat and that is why his party is supporting him.
Achakzai said Pakistan has been bearing billions of rupees losses everyday because of these sit-ins.
