SIALKOT - The Hajipura Police arrested 15 dangerous criminals along with ringleaders of six well-organised inter-district gangs of dacoits during a special drive launched against the criminals.
DPO Afzaal Ahmed Kausar told the newsmen that police recovered 12 stolen and snatched motorcycles and cash worth Rs0.6 million from the accused.
He said that the police team, led by Hajipura Police SHO Riaz Ahmed Bajwa arrested 23 notorious proclaimed offenders (POs) of A category and 23 POs of B category, besides, three notorious POs Waqas, Sajjad and Niaz from Karachi, as they were wanted by the police for the last eight years and were involved in more than 20 cases of heinous nature.
The DPO added that the Hajipura Police had also traced out as many as five old cases of dacoity and arrested two accused POs Jamil and Saqib and recovered two looted motorcycles and cash worth Rs0.3 million from them. He said that the police had submitted the challans of 180 old cases before the local courts, in this regard.
