ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday assured that the government would provide foolproof security cover to Polio teams so that they could perform their duties in all areas of the country safely and without fear.
The PM said this in a meeting with Dr. Azra Fazal Pechehu, MNA, and Begum Shehnaz Wazir Ali, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and focal person of Prime Minister’s Polio Monitoring Cell, at the PM House. Discussing the ongoing polio campaign in the country, the PM reiterated the resolve of the government to take all necessary steps to eradicate Polio and assured that the federal government would provide all possible assistance to save children from this crippling malady.
Shehnaz briefed the Prime Minister on the measures taken by the PM’s Polio Monitoring Cell to ensure comprehensive coverage for Polio vaccination of children to eliminate Polio.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction over the fact that improved coordination has played its role in reducing the problem of accessibility. He also stressed the need to further strengthen coordination at various tiers to achieve substantive results.
