MUZAFFARGARH - AGAHE’s chairperson Qazi Shoaib Baber has said that the PPAF has been striving hard to improve income and support of poor segment in highly food insecure and low HDI rankings districts of the country.
He said that the fund had directed interventions to reach 80 percent of all households in the deprived areas of the country.
Talking to the media men here, he said that the Premier national institution was bridging gap between research, policy and practice through a robust governance structure.
The PPAF disbursed $1.6 billion including $600 million as grants to 125,000 community organisations and 414,000 credit/common interest groups and deployed financing in 99,000 villages, rural and urban settlements in all over 121 districts of the country including Muzaffargarh, Vehari and Rajanpur, he disclosed.
“AGAHE also acknowledged that PPAF’s intervened strategy at household level and theory of change comprised of social mobilisation with integrated development strategies (social, economic, environment) and private and public investment brought tangible economic uplifting of 8 million people.
The AGAHE members voiced that the PPAF’s initiatives were evidently supplementing to Pakistan’s MDGs that were already off-tracked. It was noted by the network that Pakistan was off-tracked in MDGs goals.
