RAWALPINDI - The three female accused in Lal Mosque Rangers official murder case, belonging to Maulana Abdul Aziz’s family, on Tuesday submitted their written statements before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi Number 1.ATC No 1 Judge Chaudhry Habib-ur-Rehman took up the case during which the three female members of Maulana Abdul Aziz’s family — Ume Hassan, Humaira Ghazi and Tayyaba Dua — presented their written statements before the judge through their counsel Wajih Ullah Advocate. In their statements, the female accused mentioned that law enforcement agencies filed a bogus case against them at the behest of the then president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf and his cronies. They added that they had nothing to do with this murder and the law enforces could not recover any thing from them during the physical custody.Later, the judge deferred the hearing of the case till 28 July 2011. During the proceeding of the case, a total of 19 accused including Maulana Abdul Aziz appeared before the trial court. It is pertinent to mention here that the statements of other accused would be presented before the court on the next date of hearing. The judge ordered an accused Muhammad Asif hailing from Gilgit to appear before the court on the next date of hearing and submit his written statement. The court also declared an accused namely Mujeeb-ur-Rehman as proclaimed offender in the case. A petition filed by the father of Mujeeb regarding his arrest by the intelligence agencies was also pending in Peshawar High Court.
